Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place Conference

Date: 1/17/2014

The Call for Proposals is now open for the next Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place conference, which will take place in Pittsburgh, September 8-11, 2014.

Call for Proposals

Thank you again for taking part in Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place 2013 on September 19 at Carnegie Mellon University. The energy of the event was fantastic and I enjoyed meeting many of you.

We now turn our attention towards the international event, Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place 2014, which will be held at the David L Lawrence Convention Center, September 8-11. We are expecting up to 1,000 participants, and we hope you will be among them.

One way to make sure you are a part of our event is to become a presenter. We are accepting proposals under our four conference tracks - Change, Connect, Prosper, and Sustain - until January 31, 11:59 pm Eastern.

More details about the conference tracks, presentation formats, and selection criteria can be found on the Call for Proposals page. Registration for Pro Walk/Pro Bike/Pro Place 2014 will open in mid February. Your attendance of the September 2013 summit means you are eligible for a scholarship to our 2014 international conference. We will be in touch with details about that.

We are working with the Local Host Committee to make sure the best of Pittsburgh is represented in the conference program, in plenary sessions, keynotes, mobile tours of the city, and breakout sessions. If you are interested in being part of the conference team, please get in touch with the head of our Local Host Committee, Steve Patchan, Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator, City of Pittsburgh Department of City Planning. He can be reached at (412) 393-0150 or stephen.patchan@pittsburghpa.gov.

If you are interested in sponsoring our conference, or securing exhibition space, please contact me, Mark Plotz, at mplotz@pps.org or 202-223-3621. For questions about the Call for Proposals process, please contact Kate Rube at krube@pps.org or 212-620-5660 x326.

Sincerely,

Mark Plotz
Conference Director
